Thread Milling
Thread milling is a core capability at McMellon Bros. The shop cuts internal and external threads, with each setup planned around the part’s thread, fit, and material.

How thread milling works.
A thread mill is a rotating cutter that follows a helical path to form the thread, instead of cutting it in one pass like a tap or die. Because the tool path sets the thread size, thread milling gives close control over thread form and fit. It is often chosen for larger threads, hard alloys, and parts where a broken tap could scrap the work.
